OUR MISSION AND GOAL is to provide our clients with innovative planning and stellar coordination for their events. We have a passion for working with people on planning and coordinating events that will exceed their imagination. We have had the opportunity to partake in event planning and coordination for the past 6 years.
Salt and Light is MORE THAN A BUSINESS, it is our calling. We treat every client as if they are family and strive to execute their events. We find it vital to get to know our clients on a personal level to ensure we are providing the best service possible. We have found that the key to success in this field is to leave your clients feeling like family. This includes customer service, products, attention to detail, personalization, and building strong personal connections.
You will find that when working with us, we bring more to the table than your normal event planning business. With us, you will share in love, laughter, and commitment; this time is meant to be stress free and fun, and we intend to provide our clients with just that experience.

Co-Owner, Lead Planner
Shayla co-founded Salt & Light after discovering a passion for event planning while designing her own wedding. She now has over 12 years of experience in event and business management.
She first earned her Bachelors in Psychology at UNC Charlotte in 2012, graduated with her Masters in School Counseling from Capella University in 2016; earning Summa Cum Laude.
When she's not planning unforgettable celebrations, Shayla enjoys spending time with her husband and embracing the joys of motherhood. Grounded by her faith and love for her family, Shayla brings the heart of a wife and mother into every celebration she helps create.
Jasmine
Co-Owner, Lead Planner
As co-founder, Jasmine also has over 12 years of event experience. While others admired the finished event, Jasmine fell in love with the intricate planning behind it. From managing timelines and coordinating vendors to developing the processes that keep every detail on track.
She graduated with her Bachelors of Business Administration from Strayer University, earning Summa Cum Laude while also being inducted into the Phi Kappa Theta honor society for business students.
Jasmine's experiences as a military spouse and mother of four have shaped her into a strong leader with a passion for organization and problem-solving.

Emily
Assistant Coordinator
Emily joined Salt & Light after discovering her passion for event planning while organizing her own wedding in Spring of 2025.
Outside of event planning, Emily is passionate about public health, having earned a BS in Global Development from Cornell University and a MS in Global Health from Duke University.
She is happily married to her best friend, Jackson, and together they love traveling the world, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and taking walks with their two-year-old corgi pup!
Aiesha
Assistant Coordinator
Aiesha’s journey to Salt & Light started after planning her own wedding, where she discovered just how much she enjoyed creating, organizing, and bringing a vision to life.
Before transitioning into events, Aiesha built her career in education, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction. Her background in teaching and project management has given her a strong eye for organization and communication.
Outside of event planning, Aiesha enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children going on adventures and exploring new places.
